Welcome
Alpine Backcountry Lodge is situated 4km from Tomamu resort near the post office and local shop in Kamitomamu, or Upper Tomamu.
Set in a quiet culdesac and surrounded by the mountains of the Tomamu backcountry, Alpine Backcountry Lodge offers a laid back ‘club style’ experience in central Hokkaido. It’s perfect for groups, families, couples and singles.
Our lodge was originally a dormitory and we’ve refurbished it to combine rooms and add comforts. Its centre piece is an intimate lounge/dining space where you can re-live your day in the powder by the roaring Dutch West log fire with your beverage of choice. The clawfoot bath in a wood-lined shower room is also relaxing. All beds and linens are new.
Even though our lodge has a backcountry pedigree and relaxed atmosphere, it’s an ideal location and price point for those looking to ski the nearby resorts. Our rates are modest even for short stays, and reduce with bigger groups and longer stays.
Whether you are an avid backcountry skier, resort skier, ski tourer or like staying home for sledding and snow play, Lucy and I hope to share our slice of Hokkaido paradise with you.
